For Faith Formation - Grades K-12
If your child(ren) is not enrolled in our Catholic School, Annunciation Catholic Church’s Faith Formation program is here to foster and to provide students with age-appropriate catechesis guided by biblical lessons, the teachings of the Church, and a clear vision of the Gospel. This is accomplished by building upon students’ life experiences, fostering family involvement, developing their spirituality and involvement in liturgical prayer, encouraging moral development and challenging students to experience faith in a spirit of joy.
Each student is to register every calendar year to participate in the program. Family expectations are also to be registered members of the parish, to attend weekly masses, to actively support the parish financially with weekly contributions.
All our catechists and assistants are giving of their time and talent as volunteers. They spend a great deal of time preparing themselves and in preparing their class each week. We are most grateful for their dedicated service and are always looking for other adults to join our catechetical community each year.
A lectionary-based catechesis is the root to our faith formation program. It integrates the catechesis of the students with the ongoing life of the parish community at Sunday Eucharist. Its content is based on the Sunday gospels of the liturgical year and conforms to the Catechism of the Catholic Church. Classes for faith formation follows the Sunday 8:30 AM Mass. Students learn the rhythms and seasons of the liturgical year.
Diocesan sacrament guidelines require all children between the ages of 6-17 to be baptized Catholic and have completed one formal year of faith formation prior to preparing for sacraments of First Reconciliation, First Eucharist and/or Confirmation making it a two year preparation program.
Faith Formation Director's are Bethany Strange and Kim Strange.
